iFactory and Northeastern University Libraries Announce the Launch of the Redesigned Northeastern University Libraries Website

BOSTON—January 20, 2012—With 206,500 scholarly ebooks, a beautiful new design, and vast digital media offerings, the new Northeastern University Libraries website [] has launched!

A collaboration between Northeastern University Libraries and the award-winning Boston-based agency, iFactory, the new Northeastern University (NU) Libraries website supports the Library's mission to promote knowledge discovery and creation, build interdisciplinary connections, and create global and societal impact.

Through focus groups, usability testing and competitive assessments, iFactory and NU collaborated to reorganize the site so that users can more easily search library resources, quickly attain assistance, and effortlessly access and understand high-tech offerings.

The Library's new website connects researchers at NU to online resources and services including research databases and journals, digital collections, physical collections, document delivery, tutorials and instruction. Through improved navigation, users can now easily access online help services such as hours, fees, news and archives. Library initiatives such as "Exhibits and Events" are now prominently featured in a new layout, and modules such as "Giving" and "Tips" enable users to support the Library and impact its future.

Built on the sustainable open source solution, Drupal, the new website is flexible, controllable, and allows for digital innovation and growth moving forward.
