Here are just a few examples of our work in healthcare and lifesciences:
MGH Institute of Health Professions : Website Redesign
Challenge: The MGH Institute of Health Professions needed a new website that compelled prospective student visitors to inquire, and ultimately apply to one of the Institute's academic program. Specifically, the site needed to present crucial information in 21st century formats useful to and usable by students and prospective students, as well as attract alumni and friends to support the Institute.
Solution: By engaging stakeholders and current students, and organizing the site in a user-centric way, iFactory made it easier for end users to find the information they were seeking, especially taking into account the very specific focus of prospective students for each program. One big improvement involved building a dynamic curriculum module for each specialty of each degree program, so prospects could get an accurate (and up-to-date) idea of what courses they'd be taking (with an easy-to-use administration module for the Institute to keep this data up to date). Another, was a tool to quickly drill down into the specific application procedures for each program and degree, since prospects typically are only looking at one program and are not concerned about the application procedures for programs and degrees that do not apply to them.
CHAMP : Website Redesign
CHAMP: The Collaboration for Home Care Advances in Management and Practice has been improving geriatric home care nationally for the past three years via educational programs in medication and pain management for frontline nurse managers.
The new CHAMP web site includes an interactive Community of Practice and is the first online national forum to motivate and support quality improvement efforts by home care organizations and other interested stakeholders. Built on top of the iFactory CMS, the site offers the member community a place to share success stories, strategies and experiences, as well as ask questions and receive periodic advice from experts across a variety of home care topics.
Wyss Institute : Website Redesign
Challenge: To create a site that appeals to, inspires, and is a valuable resource for a wide-ranging audience that consists of but is not limited to the research community at large, donors, investors, academia, a lay audience, industry decision makers, and the medical community.
Solution: iFactory conducted interviews, went through a full IA phase, and created numerous concepts and designs for the new site. A functional spec and custom-built CMS allows the Institute to update the site, using iFactory HTML.
Dr. Rami Burstein, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School : Defeating Migraine Pain with Triptans DVD
Challenge: To disseminate cutting-edge Triptan drug research to an international community of scientists and physicians.
Solution: iFactory created scripts, recorded voice-overs and generated 3D animations for a DVD presentation presented to great success to over 1000 medical professionals.
Harvard Center for Cancer Prevention : Your Cancer Risk Website
Challenge: To educate the public about cancer by communicating the link between personal lifestyle choices and risk assessment.
Solution: iFactory produced a series of algorithm-driven interactive questionnaires which help users to visualize how their personal medical histories and lifestyle choices (such as smoking) contribute to their risk for cancer.
MIT Medical : Website Redesign
Challenge: To improve the exposure, understanding and use of MIT Medical services. To reorganize the vast quantity of available healthcare information and to redesign the website to appeal more to the MIT community of students, faculty and staff.
Solution: iFactory conducted focus group tests, performed usability analysis and produced an exciting new visual design to reflect a dramatically improved information architecture.
Schwarz Pharma : Omeprazole/PPIQ.com
Challenge: To support a national advertising campaign promoting adoption of cost-saving generic drugs.
Solution: Fast launch of an informational website to capture traffic from advertising media.
